Title: Programming & Customizing PICmicro Microcontrollers Publisher: McGraw-Hill/TAB Electronics Authors: Myke Predko Rating: 5/5 I am still struggling to learn PIC basics, and fortunately came upon this book. This is, by far, the most accessible and complete PIC text that I have found. It has expanded and improved considerably beyond the 1st edition, and it treats clearly many of the things that I have wondered about.

Title: ActionScript for Flash MX: The Definitive Guide, Second Edition Publisher: O'Reilly Authors: Colin Moock Rating: 5/5 Another excellent book for anyone using Flash. Unlike many Flash books the author is not trying to be clever and impress us with his tricks and techniques (often called, "real life projects"). Instead he is genuinly trying to document and explain ActionScript in a methodical and structured way. For many, ActionScript would be unfathomable without this book. I have two copies, one at home, one at work. I just wish I had more time to read them.

Title: HTML for the World Wide Web with XHTML and CSS: Visual QuickStart Guide, Fifth Edition Publisher: Peachpit Press Authors: Elizabeth Castro Rating: 5/5 Great book! Bought it several months ago and still use it as a reference for details I couldn't remember. Ms. Castro eases you gently into the language, telling you why a certain code or technique helps and how it's done. There is also a companion website with minor corrections, additional references and a bulletin board so you can email questions and communicate with other programmers.

Title: Windows NT Shell Scripting Publisher: Pearson Education Authors: Timothy Hill Rating: 4/5 I've been looking for a complete reference of NT shell commands, and this is the closest (if not the only at this time) that I could find. I have noticed a few errors and omissions, but all in all, it has helped my scripting capabilities tremendously. A must-have for any NT admin who want's to get creative in his/her administrative tasks.
