Great Book I Got It For An Advanced C Class

This book is a too fast made booklet to treat such a delicate argument. The Java examples seem a last minute add. A lot of important arguments are not present. I cannot substitute the book"Code Complete " with this one.Absolutely not.

This book is fantastic

This book is great. Its material is well explained, the topics covered are complete (for the most part), and the examples make sense. It is a fantastic reference that should be on the shelf of any professional game programmer or aspiring game programmer. However, this book isn't a hand holding guide to making "cool" games, as some reviewers expected it to be. There is no single book for that. There are so many topics to cover, it would be impossible to put them all into one text. Please don't be fooled by reviews from non-professionals, as this book is a must have. For a list of beginner books to give yourself an introduction to game programming, feel free to send me an email.

on The Art of Deception

I would recommend this book as reading for everyone involved in any kind of social activity where anything or anyone is at risk in any way. If you read the book, pay attention with an open mind and use common sense, you will gain tremendous insight into effective ways of implementing security. Mr. Mitnick points out how most of us can be watching the door carefully while the intruder walks past us completely unnoticed. I would recommend reading through this book occasionally to keep the methods fresh in your mind, because the art of deception is exactly what it is about; computer knowledge and programming are only secondary skills.

MG&FX in FCP

One of the most readable books explaining FCP techniques that I have read. Really well put together, especially from a beginning to intermediate user standpoint. Comes with a DVD of extra material for use with the tutorials in the book. Excellent examples, wonderful graphics, great exercises, and some bonus plugins to use in your own FCP setup! I would love to see Apple use Kevin to prepare material when they do the upgrade to FCP 5 in the future. I am very pleased.
