You are Caught! And Your are It

Juan Enriquez's book covers a highly complex and hard to understand set of developments that has challenged the brightest minds of the planet. Yet, he has done this very skillfully so that the layman can understand the monumental implications of these accomplishments. He engages us in a conversation and in a very unconventional manner plays with font sizes and dazzles us with enticing and easy to understand graphics. To the casual observer this might seem to have been easily done, but this would be deceiving. Similar to dancing, things that seem to have been easily done actually took more skill rather than ease.I read this book after 9/11, and I find that it is just as valuable now if not more so since 9/11.

Title: Network Security Assessment
Publisher: O'Reilly
Authors: Chris McNab
Rating: 3/5
Customer opinion - 3 stars out of 5
Good book for assessments overview

Network Security Assessment is a quite good book. It lists many scanning tools and techniques appliable on different network aspects, reordering ideas to a confused security beginner.

I need to say it doesn't do an in-depth scanning analysis for any assessment aspect, and few chapters are more tools lists than else. I also disagree on subjects placement in chapters.
But it has a wide range of discussed arguments and I appreciated it very much.

Readers with no strong knowledge on scanning techniques should consider this book a good starting point for deeper studies on every argument quoted in it.
Readers with enough knowledge on widely used scanning techniques have nothing new to learn here.

This is THE BOOK

Easy reading with tons of examples and facts to back up the statements. I'm a user interface evangelist, and Nielsen is now my hero.
If you're only going to buy one book on web design, this is it.
