Great book!

Robot Building for Beginners fills a vital gap between LEGO MindStorms and microcontroller-based robots. Many of the robots in other books are so complicated that they're too overwhelming to get started or too lame to bother. This book has excellent, easy-to-follow instructions with lots of photographs. +++++

not good for expert programmers

If you know C++ or Java well, then this book will be annoyingly slow and boring for the first third of the book. The treatment of the C# language is for the novice programmer and does not cover the detail of the language (so no use as a C# lang ref). If you don't know what inheritance and polymorphism mean then this is the book for you otherwise look elsewhere.

Up and running thanks to this book!

I had a device I needed to control via computer and just couldn't get the serial port to do the job. Bought this book and was up and running in no time with very little starting knowledge of using USB. This book was awesome and went all the way from the basics to the in depth info I needed to complete my project. Buy the hardcopy and save yourself the headache of trying to get an ebook to work.

Typos

The book give step by step instruction on how to do pretty much everything. But there are several instances where there are typos in the info of navigation and what exactly you "click." For begginers a book like this could be frusturating, I'm fairly advanced, so i was able to figure most of it out.
