Title: TOAD Pocket Reference for Oracle Publisher: O'Reilly Authors: Jim McDaniel, Patrick McGrath Rating: 5/5 In my past few years, I am working as a developer for an e-Banking System, I have an opportunity to know Oracle, however, I would like to know more about it, apart from reading books or being certified, the best way is to "Practise", there is an experienced DBAs told me you can use a tool called "TOAD" for your reference, you will be much faster to be on tract and see what's going on in Oracle, it helps during load test and development time. Also, it is a tool for Oracle developer, some of my friends test their program in Oracle, but it is not a good practice and TOAD provides a good way for us to defend our standard and practice. Actually, why do you need this book ? Why don't you just download the documentation or print out the manual from [the website]? The reason is simple: This book is precise and direct. This book likes provides clear steps for you to achieve various functions including administration, debugging , SQL and Procedures. If you find, there are two books called Unix For Oracle and Oracle DBA Checklists, those are simple and crucial steps required by DBA as well as manager, we don't need a thick book with 800 pages, we just need a book with 100 pages and portable. I strongly recommend this book for consultants and developers. It helps me to solve problems many times...:> Anthony

Title: Information Architecture for the World Wide Web: Designing Large-Scale Web Sites Publisher: O'Reilly Authors: Louis Rosenfeld, Peter Morville Rating: 5/5 Information architecture sounds impressive, but it's a new title for a subject I've been pushing with software developers since before there WAS a world wide web, or at least since before most people knew it existed. It's a matter of usability, and appearance. A website must be both good-looking, and easy-to-use. And this book tells you exactly what that does (and doesn't) mean. If you design or write websites, please, for the sake of all your visitors, READ THIS BOOK!

Title: Wireless Hacks Publisher: O'Reilly Authors: Rob Flickenger Rating: 5/5 This is an amazing book about wireless. It's coverage of everything from the operating system level stuff, to drivers, to cards, to hacking cards, to building your own antenna, to doing shotgun wireless is just incredible. If you are a serious wireless junkie you will love this book. For the casual coffee shop surfer, this is probably not the right book, but you probably don't have any issues with wireless anyway.

Title: Managing the Testing Process: Practical Tools and Techniques for Managing Hardware and Software Testing, 2nd Edition Publisher: Wiley Authors: Rex Black, Rex Black Rating: 5/5 This is one of my favorite software testing books. It has an especially good chapter on metrics for evaluating the progress of your testing effort--the metrics are easy to calculate, and VERY importantly, easy to understand by--and convincing to, in my experience--the people you'll be reporting your progress to. There's also a good chapter on bug-tracking, and some discussion of how to write bug reports that I've found very useful for training new testers. Plus, there's lots of useful perspective on general management issues--hiring; the interdepartmental issues that (as far as I know) are unique to testing; etc. I wrote this review based on the first edition--a second edition has since come out.
