Title: QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter Publisher: Princeton University Press Authors: Richard Phillips Feynman Rating: 4/5 I should say from the outset that I am biased due to the fact that I'm a physics student - I've come across a lot of the material Feynman covers in these lecturers before. However never have I heard QED described in such an engaging and simply entertaining style. Feynman was truly one of the greatest communicators of physics this century, and he's extraordinarily funny. The lectures are aimed at people with a very rudimentary knowledge of physics and maths (they were public lectures in New Zealand after all!) and if you're willing to suspend disbelief for some of the more unusual aspects of QED it will all make sense. The biggest flaw with the videos, however, is the poor quality of the video and audio. Sometimes Feynman's mic drops out completely (dealt with humerously by Feyman of course) and the picture is rather poor. This is why I think the videos only receive four stars (while Feynman himself would receive about ten). Nevertheless, I'd put up with a lot more to see Feynman lecture on QED. I just hope that in the future these videos will be cleaned up and re-released as DVDs!

Title: Windows Forms Programming in C# Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional Authors: Chris Sells Rating: 5/5 Everything changes in the Microsoft .NET Framework and the C# language, including the creation of graphical user interfaces (GUIs). Windows Forms Programming in C# explains the Windows Forms (WinForms) environment to programmers who have some experience with .NET programming, and in the process (thanks to a clear and deliberate expository style) reveals a lot about .NET to less experienced developers. The overall effect is that almost every reader comes away with better knowledge of .NET, not just its user-interface libraries and behaviors.

Title: SQL Bible Publisher: Wiley Authors: Alex Kriegel, Boris M. Trukhnov Rating: 5/5 I bought this book because it was cheaper than 'SQL: The Complete Reference' and I am using it mainly as a reference tool, syntax, structure, inner/outer joins (I always forget how it works), etc. I needed to do an Update and wanted to find out the correct structure and looked it up in the Index, which had this listing: 'updating. See modifying' I am being picky, but I would expect the index to have an actual page reference to the Update Statement, instead of having to go to another section. I am concerned about other short comings within the book.

Title: International Business: Competing in the Global Marketplace : Postscript 2002 Publisher: McGraw-Hill Companies Authors: Charles W. L. Hill Rating: 3/5 It is a solid book on international business strategy. But the author's writing style is unnecesarily complex and too much econ-based. Students may not follow well.
