Not for experienced programmers/scripters

If you're familiar and comfortable with other languages, you may find this book too long-winded. I think it could have slimmed down by 300 pages and been easier to follow and more useful for learning.

If you get annoyed by incessant references to Monty Python, you may find the various examples very distracting and irritating. ('Foo' is a nonsense word, and doesn't interfere with anything, but to constantly read 'spam' and 'eggs' gets really distracting.)

If you've never done scripting or programming, then the pace might be appropriate for you.

I SURRENDER ALREAY!

Is this book relevant? Read chapter 2 and compare it to the events of the last two weeks - Blaster and Nachi (the fixer) I started telling people around the office about the fictional story (hah) becoming reality and they thought I was talking about the twilight zone. This book rocks!!

The best VB book I've ever seen

The authors guide in the simplest way the reader to all the feature and problem of VB programming, from Form thru Class, from vb statement thru object programming. The author always introduce an argument, give a simple solution, show problems of that solution, and give alternative or more advanced way to solve the problem. For me it's the best book of VB (and not only)

Good book, but the code needs comments

My only gripe about this amazing book is that the source code is not well documented. At times he does a few tricky things that would be much easier to understand if there were a few lines of comments in the code.Other than that, it is a wonderful book that any computer science student who is doing windows programming will find useful.
