Title: Microsoft Outlook Programming, Jumpstart for Administrators, Developers, and Power Users Publisher: Digital Press Authors: Sue Mosher Rating: 5/5 The book is beyond excellent, but that is not why I am writing this review. Sue Mosher put a book together for all levels of Outlook users. From the novice trying to extend the usefulness of Outlook to the programmer tasked with creating a custom solution. Between this book (and her others), her work with www.slipstick.com, and her own www.outlookcode.com--she is the greatest Outlook\Exchange coding resource I could name. What makes it even better is that when you happen to email her a 'code dilemma' question she'll write you back and set you straight.

Title: The Code Book: The Science of Secrecy from Ancient Egypt to Quantum Cryptography Publisher: Anchor Authors: SIMON SINGH Rating: 5/5 Great read, distilled content, and it has helped me communicate more precisely on information security. A good pre-read to Kahn's "Codebreakers" or even "Cryptomonicon."

Title: ColdFusion MX Web Application Construction Kit, Fifth Edition Publisher: Macromedia Press Authors: Ben Forta, Nate Weiss, Leon Chalnick, Angela C. Buraglia Rating: 5/5 I'm new to Cold Fusion...have only used ASP...and started creating a practice CF site using Macromedia's documentation which I found somewhat helpful but not entirely what I needed. Since this book wasn't immediately available, I purchased another CFMX book and was greatly disappointed...lots of theory and little practical application. Not so with Ben Forta's book. Within a half hour I was creating the Security Login page I was looking for and it worked perfectly the first time! This book is easy to read, understand and possibly the most useful book of its type I have ever used! I highly recommend it!

Title: Oracle9i PL/SQL Programming Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media Authors: Scott Urman Rating: 5/5 I purchased this book knowing nothing about PL/SQL. I read the entire book and worked through most of the examples in a week of dedicated self-training. The material is presented in a logical order. All the examples worked. Although all scripts are provided on the CD that comes with the book, I typed in all examples which helped in learning the material. The only issue I had with some of the examples is the use of the DBMS_OUTPUT package. This package writes the output of some of the examples to the screen. However, it only does so in SQL*Plus or Server Manager. I was using a tool by Quest called TOAD. I compensated for this by sending the output to a temp table provided by the author and then queried the temp table to retrieve the results. It worked just fine. Working through the examples requires the Oracle database, which shouldn't be a problem since anyone can download Oracle for free from Oracle's website. I give the book a big thumbs up! I definitely feel I have the knowledge necessary to go out and write PL/SQL.
