Title: The Rational Unified Process: An Introduction, Third Edition Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional Authors: Philippe Kruchten Rating: 2/5 There are some good ideas in the book. Overall its sales literature. I should be able to download it from Rational's web site. I don't recommend it unless you have full intentions of buying Rational's developer products.

Title: DB2 UDB V8.1 Certification Exam 700 Study Guide Publisher: Prentice Hall PTR Authors: Roger E. Sanders Rating: 4/5 A very good book for clearing the certification. Lot of explanation in this book is written keeping in view of certification. But it is a very good book for even interviews also. Prior experience in DB2 would be a plus to enhance your understanding. The chapter on locks is very good and you would not forget the different locking scenarios after reading this book. I have cleared the exam with 80%. Be careful while answering the queries in exam, becoz most of the questions look alike as in the book but answer will not be the same as there is a slight difference in framing the question.

Title: PHP Cookbook Publisher: O'Reilly Authors: David Sklar, Adam Trachtenberg Rating: 5/5 Most books cover commands and functions as though they were disembodied topics and don't relate them to the real world. PHP Cookbook must be written by a "real developer" because he addresses actual everyday issues and illustrates practical solutions that you can use in your own applications. I highly recommend this book. - Hank Castello compusolver.com
