The best text for a new engineer or student to wireless

A must-have for a beginner in the field of Wireless Communications. The author covers a wide range of topics starting from basic Cellular System engineering to topics like mobile channel characterization, fading and diversity, channel coding, modulation etc.. The book also provides a very good introduction to First and Second generation Mobile communication standards. The authors style is very good and easy to understand. A lot of unnecessary math is avoided and very good overview is presented.
But the thing I liked the most in this book is the exercise problems at the end of each chapter and the references. Working out the problems in the end will help a lot in gaining a deeper insight into the concepts explained in the book.
Overall.. this book certainly deserves 5 *'s !

An excellent book, well worth the price and time!

This was not my first "serious" C++ book, but it was certainly the most practical. Even though I didn't finish it one sitting (as did Stan Kelly Bootle) I did manage to finish it in about a month of steady reading; line-by-line, as it were. This takes the reader from the academic, beginner or even journeyman level, to consultant level. It isn't light reading, but it is well worth the time.

Great starter book for people unfamiliar with VBA Excel

This was my first book I used to learn the VB intricacies of Excel. Showed me step-by-step what is possible as far as developing a user application, with a VB fueled spreadsheet. One thing that I liked was code that removed all the users toolbars (makes the visual screen area maximized) and the upon closing, puts them all back. Had results in just about a week with some help from the Microsoft news groups (Excel related). Recommended as a starter for those unfamiliar with VB or Excel.
