a good reference if you've really got to be secure

If you are not sure that you need this book, then you probably don't. But if there is something it the table of contents that you've got to know, and you've got to get it right, then this would be a good book to have. Chapter 12 on Anti-Tampering was a really enjoyable read, though probably a futile task.

Well written and organized

This isn't something that I would sit down and read just for fun, but it is well written and organized, which makes it easy to use. The bulk of the book is in the dictionary of terms which is organized alphabetically. Each one is described using both a text definition and a notational graphic, and often an example. There is a section on the different types of views at the front of the book.

Best Book for Photography and Retouching

This book is invaluable and worth three times the price. The first three chapters alone are worth the price of this book. Pick this one up immediately.

Best Inside Lightwave yet!

This is the best Inside Lightwave book yet! I spend lots of money on 3D books and training DVDs. In my experience, sometimes you get your money out of the content and sometimes you don't. Inside Lightwave 8 is by far the best 3D instructional book I have ever bought. This book is worth every penny. I really liked the hours of supplement videos that come on the book's DVD. Between the book content and the videos, I got everything I needed to get up to speed on LW8's new features. I especially liked the modeling chapters. These chapters really show you how to build models and to use real techniques that will help you to get a firm grasp on 3D modeling. My favorite tutorial is the "match-move" tutorial in the compositing section. I have looked for a tutorial on manual match-moving with lightwave for over a year.

Awesome content, great writing, and cool supplement videos makes this the best Lightwave book on the market.

Fantastic book Dan, thanks a lot.
