Title: SNMP, SNMPv2, SNMPv3, and RMON 1 and 2 (3rd Edition) Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional Authors: William Stallings Rating: 4/5  The third edition of this book by Stallings updates his excellent reference book to cover SNMPv3 and RMON 2. I am an owner of the first edition which also covered CMIP, but was dropped in the second edition. I bought this book to get the SNMPv3 material. As with all of this books, he does an excellent job of explaining the subject matter and taking the standard RFCs and providing useful, readable material. As far as changes since the second edition, RMON 2 gets a chapter of its own. The SNMPv3 material covers four chapters. This book is what I use in my job for SNMP development. I highly recommend it - both as a reference and for learning the details of SNMP.

Smith, Doug Toombs, Mark Minasi Rating: 5/5 Hello to all, I have Mark's PC upgrade and Win2000 Resource kit set, and boy am I glad I do !!! Mark explainations are very easy to understand, and are more than helpful. If you are going to become Certified, and who isn't now a days, then these books are a must, but for the Win2k Set, you should have inferential knowledge of NT 4.0, which Mark also writes about. If you don't have PC upgrade, get that first, then move on to WinNT 4.0, and Win2K, with these books in your corner, the PC is nothing more then a familar friend for the future in your world of knowledge. These books are also recommended by a CBT company who's course I also use, and are very highly recommended so, go for it.
