Exceptional! Highly Recommended.

It is BEST digital photography book I have read and I have purchased over 10 different books on the subject. It is comprehensive covers not only digital photography but also the principles of 35mm photography in general. It is complete! You can get information from camera type, file size, camera control, lens type, printer choice, output resolutions and many many more. I am totally impressed by this book. This is idea for some one who is new to not only digital photography but 35mm photography as well. Highly recommended.

Missing chapter

I payed good money for this book. But for some, to me, unknown reason, Microsoft left out chapter 19. In one page the book jumps from page 484 to page 549. How could this happen?

A masterpiece

This book is a classic. Besides, it's a bargain. I read it more than 10 years ago as an undergrad and, even then, could grasp all the concepts. So, it's really accessible.

Great Book, Great CD-ROM

I agree with many of the reviews already posted here. I found the CD-ROM to be especially thorough, with Bonus Chapters, Hands on examples, and lots of software demo and eval copies. In a working situation I had a question about curve editing, and I looked in the index of this book and found my answer explained step by step. A rival book did not have a "curve editing" entry in their index, and when I tracked down their explanation, it was not as clearly described or illustrated. Hats off to the Savvy guys, Watrall and Herber.
