Made our XP upgrade a success!

This book takes apart the XP operating system from top to bottom and everything in between. Taking it from desktop configuration to user access to mobile networking to troubleshooting. One thing I really liked about the text is the thoroughness throughout the book and the step by step procedures to show you how to configure and manage different parts of the OS. I'd also recommend as a study guide for the 70-270 exam as well.

On the XP upgrade just completed this book saved my bacon several times. I am certainly glad to have this in my technical library.

High Speed Digital System Design - Excellent Book

This book is the most comprehensive book I have seen in the area of system bus design. It focuses largely on signal integrity issues that must be solved in modern high speed designs. It includes much practical information that can be directly applied to design, as well as a sufficient amount of theory so that the the reader can understand the fundamental issues assosiated with high speed signal propagation. It also covers topics not included inother texts, such as high speed measuremet techniques, design methodology and EMI. It is highly understandable and well organized.

Excellent and Thorough

This book was extremely thorough in its preparation for the Certification Exam. I found it better on several topics (Threads, Collections) than several other books I read. The practice questions and sample exams were much more difficult (and therefore helpful) than others as well. Even now that I have become Certified, I keep this book around as a reference for some of the tricky language and API features. Definitely worth it, although I would supplement it with some of the good web sites and possible another book as well (I also read the Sybex one)

The BEST Book on Photoshop Elements 2

I checked this book out of my library as I frequently use Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 2. At first, I thought Elements is very inferior to Photoshop, but I have found ways to overcome its' limitations. That is the entire thrust of this book by Mr. Lynch. He provides detailed explanations and procedures for doing almost anything in Elements 2 you can do in Photoshop 7. Take time to read the book and work the problems chapter by chapter and you will learn a lot about Photoshop and Elements 2. I have six Photoshop Elements books by various authors on my shelf and this book is superior, absolutely the BEST! Along with the book you receive a CD containing Recipes for all the procedures presented in the book. Work through each chapter exercise to gain an understanding of what is being done. Then use the recipes to help you through each procedure next time you use it. Buy this book. You will learn at lot!
