Cumulative Knowledge

At first I wanted to buy 'Advanced Programming in the UNIX(R) Environment by W. Richard Stevens' - I've read that it's very good - but it's a little old (from 1992) and I looked for another. The book is very easy to read, the code examples are almost always complete, so that you can compile and run them. The exercises are from the reality and help the reader to understand and to learn the stuff of the book. There are many additional information, spreadsheets and graphics. You only should have some experience in writing C code...

Very well written

I have read numerous "how to" books on premier pro and editing, in general, but none as well written than this. By well written, I mean that he talks to the reader with the assumption that they know very little. Thus, his explanations and use of analogies are geared towards creating concrete images that one can use in understanding some pretty abstract concepts in editing. He makes the learning very visual. So, I would say this is an excellent book for visual learners. Despite the use of a great deal of text, he explains the processes in concrete visual terms so that you can better grasp and retain the concepts. Very well done.

Excellent Guide for implementing Design Patterns in C#.

This book will serve you well whether you knowPatterns and are trying to learn C# or know C# and are trying tounderstand Patterns better. It is not a replacement for the DesignPatterns Book or a good C+ reference, but it is an excellent companion for both.

Worth the Money

I have read and reviewed most of these SNMP books. In general, they are not very good. This one is EXCELLENT. However, it is definitely for people developing mibs and not somebody looking to understand how SNMP works. It is a resource as an SNMP developer I could not live without.
