He still writes like a normal person

Fowler is such a standout in the way he writes. As fun as it is for some of the guys to write as if they had to pay a dollar for every word anyone understood, well, it's not fun for us. Instead of Problem Statement, Forces, Strategies, blahblahblah, Fowler just has two main categories:
What It IsHow to Use It
This rocks.
And as another reviewer mentioned, he addresses that huge headache, O-R mapping. This is a very good thing.
Go ahead, get it.

Excellent Book...Worth the Money

This is the first time I am writing a review in Amazon.com though I have been a customer for 3 years now. What prompted me to write for the first time is that this book covered excellent material, worth the money, with a great reading pleasures compared to other technical books that I had read over the years (though the book volume its more than 1500 pages).
In addition, as an Internet Project Manager, the book written by Mark and his team impresses me. The book is a great investment. Don't implement WIN2K if you don't have this book!

Great book

The material is very hard, but the book is written in a way that makes it as easy to read as possible. There is TONS of information here. I usually like to highlight the important stuff when I read, but in this book, nearly everything is important and worth highlighting. In other words, there is no B.S.; they get right down to the point.

Great

It's incredible to think of the work that went into making this book. I really enjoy the examples given with nearly every entry in the reference section.
I think that Colin's extensive research uncovered attributes of ActionScript that weren't previously considered by the designers, giving the language more power.
I would probably only plead for more client-server integration discussion, but understand that it was covered briefly, is not fully within the scope of the book and would consume a lot of space.
