Title: The Portable PMP® Prep: Conversations on Passing the PMP® Exam Publisher: ESI International Authors: Carl L. Pritchard, J. LeRoy Ward Rating: 5/5 I found listening to these two gentlemen discuss the subject matter helpful since their examples were a little closer to real life scenarios, in simpler terms than the sometimes dry and theoretical treatment given by other resources. I listened to all nine discs twice and am now listening to them again since the test is behind me and the pressure is off. Everytime I listen, I learn something new I missed the previous time. Although there is no substitute to the PMBOK for understanding the material covered on the test, these audio CD's provide good perspective on the subject matter, I passed the test and attribute part of it to the understanding of the content covered in these audio CDs.

Title: Sams Teach Yourself Java 2 in 21 Days (4th Edition) (Sams Teach Yourself) Publisher: Sams Authors: Rogers Cadenhead, Laura Lemay Rating: 3/5 I would have loved this book, except there are no exercises, and the standard Sam's "BUG BUSTERS" are missing as well.

Title: Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs - 2nd Edition (MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) Publisher: The MIT Press Authors: Harold Abelson, Gerald Jay Sussman Rating: 5/5 As is probably obvious from the sharply divided ratings, this book doesn't appeal to everybody. For me, it deserves the full five stars. This was the *only* textbook I kept from college. My leanings are more toward the theoretical, and I'm more interested in conceptual books (like the GOF patterns book) than implementation books (like, say, K&R). I think that this is a reasonable guideline for evaluating whether or not this book is worth reading... So, I give this book five stars in terms of a theoretically oriented read, and maybe two stars in terms of a practically oriented read.
