A Handy Reference

"UML 2 for Dummies" is an excellent source for both students and users of UML. I was looking for a good tutorial on how UML 2 might affect systems engineering documents and found it here. Having completed the book, the reader should expect to be able to recognize and understand UML 2 diagrams and to comprehend the role of the various diagram types in the engineering process. The reader will also be able to prepare UML 2 diagrams to implement his own designs using the book as a reference. If your project is moving toward UML and object-oriented techniques or, if you just want to understand what system engineers and software designers are doing these days, this book is a good investment of your time.

I don't care what anyone says 5 stars, no doubt!

I am just as surprised as another reviewer that this book gets such a wide range of stars. I read the book description and after reading the book I felt that it covered every topic that it said it was going to cover, and covered them well.
Not only was the book alone great, in fact it is the only java book that I even use at work, the author(Jason Hunter) is a pretty cool guy himself. I don't knkow him personally, be he responds to emails promptly and even answered questions of mine that the book didn't cover.
How do you like dem' apples.
I do agree with others in saying that this isn't a beginner's book, it is intermediate to say the least. Keep that in mind before purchasing it, but all in all, I think it is a good buy...scratch that...great buy.

Complete coverage of java servlets

I have being commenting out some Java books I've bought last year and after saying that "Inside Servlets" book was a must as an introduction to Servlets I can tell you that this one from Oreilly is not a begginers level book at all ! It has very advanced examples and talks about Connection pooling etc... the book is very good but don't start with it... it's good to see this book as 541 at the sales rank... where the hell is ASP ?
