Title: Managing Windows(R) with VBScript and WMI Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional Authors: Don Jones Rating: 5/5 I'm not sure why John Hatt had so much problems with the book. I too have found a few typos and the author clearly points out a web site on which he has posted revisions, corrections, and a whole lot of additional samples and information. I feel I've gotten a lot of value and education from the book as well as the author's web site. I agree that the framework of the book is perfect - I am learning exactly what I need, which is how to automate Windows without havign to become an expert software developer. Almost all of the samples can be used immediately (and I am doing so) on your network. I also ran into one script that wouldn't run for me at all. The author's Web site contained no corrections for it. It turned out I didn't have the right stuff installed on my computer to make the script run, but I found this out by contacting the author (his email address is given in the book) and he was very responsive and helped me figure out what was going wrong. I've never had that much help from a book!!! This was a great purchase for me.

Title: eBay Powerseller Secrets:Insider Tips from eBay's Most Successful Sellers Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media Authors: Debra Schepp, Brad Schepp Rating: 5/5 This book is not for the casual or hobbiest eBay seller. It is targetted directly at those who want to either extensively supplement their income or even make selling via eBay their sole source of income. To that end it details such things as source of product, pricing strategies, auction listing composition, automating the process, photography, tools and resources, shipping and customer service issues. With it, you will benefit from the shared "how to" provided by of dozens of eBay Power Sellers. Think of it as a graduate school reference and you won't be far off. I wish it was available when I started.

Title: 3ds max 6 Bible Publisher: Wiley Authors: Kelly L. Murdock Rating: 3/5 If you are a advanced user like myself you will learn very little from this book BUT it is incredibly useful as a reference book because it explains everything within the studio max interface (except max-script). For example it will even explain what the phisical scale roll within the radiosity using interface does in a fair amount of detail. It is also useful in explaining the different cahnges within the MAX interface. It is not really usefull however in learning complex modeling techniques and suchlike. The tutorials are also just too easy (e.g. Modelling a shell) and will not satisfy the advanced user. Very good reference book though
